Bina Nusantara English Club (BNEC)

Established in 1992, BINUS English Club (BNEC) is the only English-based student organization in BINUS University. The main purpose of BNEC is to develop its members' English skills from classes ​and competitions​, as well as soft skills from organizational experience​. BNEC has been known to annually organize Asian English Olympics​ that involve more than 600 students from countries across Asia. Aside from the international scale event, BNEC also organizes ​national scale events and other events as well, such as National English Olympics, BNEC Social Event, Seminars, and many more. Growing further as a student organization, BNEC had achieved the title of Best Student Organization​ in BINUS eight out of nine times and also gained lots of achievements and international acknowledgment from the Guinness World Records and MURI. 

In 2021, all English clubs in BINUS such as BINUS English Club @ Greater Jakarta (BNEC) (Kemanggisan, Alam Sutera, Bekasi), and BINUS International Pool of English Debaters (BIPEDS) have been integrated as one inter-campuses Student Activity Unit and named after BINUS English Club (BNEC).

• Toefl class: The TOEFL class is suitable for you who is a beginner or wants to further enhance your English skill. This class material is specially designed for you who want to expand your knowledge on written English and get you ready to face the TOEFL test.

• PSP: The Public Speaking and Performing class is a platform for you who want to enhance your public speaking skills. In this class, you will learn the arts of public speaking, such as speech, newscasting, and storytelling.

• Fast Track TOEFL Class: Fast Track TOEFL Class is  a class for you who want to prepare for the TOEFL Test in a short amount of time, which lasts in 6 months.  By joining this class, the students can get more insight and practice to help them visualise how the TOEFL Test might be.

• Debate: Debate class teaches you how to give arguments about certain topics with the right logic and deliveries in English. In addition, the class will also enhance your critical thinking skill and significantly increase your general knowledge of the latest trends through the debated topics.

• Conversation: The Conversation Class is the newest addition to BNEC classes which offer you a platform to enhance your spoken english to use in your daily activities. With various activities designed to help you practice your confidence in speaking english, this class is perfect for those of you who are a beginner in English or want to advance your oral English in daily activities.

• Debate: In this field, you can stimulate one’s intellectual capacity, especially in solving various problems or issues in life. Other than that, you also gain an opportunity to improve and demonstrate your critical thinking skills, the ability to respond, and analyze specific issues or topics.

• Newscasting: Newscasting is a field that tests your readiness to be a news anchor, where you will be given news material with various topics. 

• Storytelling: Storytelling is a field where we are given a chance to present and act out a narrative of our own original story based on the topics given. Feel free to use properties while delivering the story as well as possible. There are various types of storytelling, and each type will help you develop different skills, such as critical thinking, self confidence, and many others.

• Speech: Speech is a field where we can deliver a speech prepared to the judges based on the topics given. There are various types of speech, and each type will help you develop different skills, such as critical thinking, self confidence, and many others.

• Scrabble: Scrabble is a field where 2-4 persons play a word game on a board by placing tiles with a single letter on each tile. The board is divided into a 15×15 grid. Through scrabble, we can develop our memory, increase our english vocabulary, and train our lexical creativity.

• Asian English Olympics (AEO)
• Asian English Olympics (AEO) is one of the most anticipated English competitions in Asia, organized by BINUS English Club (BNEC). After 10 years of waving its flag in Asia, more than 13 countries and 600 participants have participated in this competition.
• National English Olympics (NEO)
• The National English Olympics is a national-level English language competition event held annually and organized by BNEC. 
• Social Event (SE)
• BNEC Social Event is one of the events at BNEC that focuses on bringing a huge impact to society by carrying out various activities with different aims each year.
